Shop and Establishment Act: Major Elements
A child cannot work in an establishment. Children are defined by law as anyone who has not yet reached the age of 14. Youngsters are those who have not reached the age of 17.
Establishments’ openings and closings: An employee can’t work for more than eight hours per day, or forty-eight hours every week. Every employee would also be required to take one day off every week.
